What are the key upgrades to the AD5X?

Are the motherboards and nozzles of the AD5M and AD5X interchangeable?
No, the mainboards and nozzles of the Adventurer 5M and AD5X are not interchangeable. They are different versions with changes in interface definitions, making them incompatible for direct replacement.

Love the machine, compliments my existing Adventurer 5M and 5M Pro. Great job Flashforge
As with any thing new there is always a learning curve. However, some of the fun is just testing things out as see what happens. Loading the filament is a breeze but pay attention not to push the filament very far into the filament tube like my ADV5MP. The loading requires just a short insertion to have the IFS grab the filament and load it automatically. You can load the filaments and then use the attached screen to identify the filament type and color. This can also be done with FlashMaker.
Once, I got familiar with the "painting" function in Orca-FlashForge, adding color and color text to the model was easy. You should also get familiar with Orca's cut and split function. Once you choose Objects instead of Global in Orca -FF , you can color each object separately.
The quality of the prints have been very good and there is no bleed over of colors between the filament color changes. I think this a great addition to your 3D print experience. I think the best use to use this machine to create specialty items which are more Artistic than Functional. Since, I have the AVD5MP , which I use mostly. I will leave the Artistic creations to AD5X.
I really like the "text" capability in Orca-FlashForge with which you could color individual letters if desired.
Bottom line, I am having a lot of fun with this machine and for this price point it is a great deal.
The only downer has been the connectivity to Orca-FlashForge to download files directly to the machine, and remember color printing requires a .3FM file not .gx , I missed that in manual and it did not work out so well. I just download the model to a Flash Drive and stick it the machine no big deal.
I am sure there will be software upgrade in the near future that will enhance the color printing experience even further. Skip a few lunches and get this machine :)
Great 3D printer, but a little touchy with the filament.
Haven't really ran it through it's paces so far but I have a P1S as well and this is easily on par with print quality and I believe better speed due to the IMS system. No issues yet abd about 50 hours of printing in.
A quick review extremely happy with the machine. My experience has been. It’s been great out of the box. Everything so easy to work with.
