ABS stuck so well I had to destroy the print and build plate to try remove, tried freezer and acetone. Not sure if user error but won't be buying another one to find out.
Machine is easy to use, best for beginners and flashforge are really good to deal with.
If you're using a mac or expecting an easy software installation and use experience, DO NOT get a flashforge. I started trying to set everything up on a Mac, then moved to Windows because the Mac software could not be installed on a modern Mac Mini. Like literally - you can't get it working on the Mac OS. The ecosystem across flashforge is utter garbage - one account for flash cloud, another for flash maker, another for orca flashforge. That's if you can work out how they are all meant to work with each other. Orca FlashForge didn't detect the printer I have on my network, and also the latest version isn't giving me an option to export to the .gx format that the printer needs (heaven forbid they would support the STANDARD gcode format - oh, no, that would be far to sensible). I'm very technical, yet 8 hours later and I still can't print anything. The user experience is THE worst I have ever come across. Ever. If you want a decent setup experience, go with a different manufacturer. I would never buy another flashforge again. Terrible. Absolutely terrible.
DID NOT FIX PROBLEM SCREEN DOES NOT TURN ON WAITING NEW CABLE
Finally, after many many years of reliable service from my creator pro (20kms filament used) I upgraded to the 5Mpro.
It is almost 6 times faster. What a difference in the time.
It seems to work well with my PETG and PLA but still having a few problems with TPU. Doesn't feed as well as the creator pro. I also have a flashforge finder which I still churn out prints on... now almost 8 years and going great...
Flashforge know how to design a 3D printer.
It would be nice if the archive of older versions of the Flashprint software were available from the website...
Then if I swap computers I only need to install the same version and can continue printing on my old fnder...
Great company and great products.
Very good printer. They even helped quickly with a delivery problem. Thanks.
This is a great printer. The only problem I will say is that the touch pad is how it's connected to the printer and how you have to push it in, The control ribbon, the slot which it comes out of the printer should be horizontal not vertical. L K
The kit is well worth the money very easy to assemble. The only drawer back is the printing of all the fittings which takes a good few hours but well worth it
We are excited to set up and utilize the 3D printer with our students in the coming school year.
The delivery was very fast and I was able to start printing again. Thank you.
After I installed the nozzle correctly. After a few passes of the head, the nozzle fell out and broke. In the process, it damaged the substrate.
First the good.
I am new to 3d printing and it was very easy to get started printing.
It's fast and prints well. I have been enjoying the prints I have made with the exception of the enclosure.
The first print #7 on the slicer ( one of the top parts) printed ok.
Some petg didn't stick properly on the inside lol where the lid goes.
While it was printing though, the nozzle seemed to scrape a bit but it finished.
I moved on to top piece #6 sliced , diced and let her rip.
I monitored the print for 6hrs. At that point the nozzle was scraping badly.
Being new, I let it continue and went to bed. Big mistake. I should have cancelled the print. I sleep with earplugs so I didn't hear it fail.
My best educated guess is the files are not set up properly.. the Z axis o too low. I woke up to a huge mess and wasted filament. If you hear scraping that doesn't sont normal. Stop your print. Maybe try adjusting the z axis up so the nozzle is further away. Not sure that is the solution. I am terrified of trying a 2nd time. Don't want to waste any more filament. I am disappointed that these file don't print properly out of the "box".
Also avoid the LED for $15
By a 24v set on Amazon with magnets or hight temp stick.
The LED does not come with anything but the LED. No directions or any way to mount to the frame. Searched YouTube. Nothing . Nothing on the Flashforge wiki that I could find either. There was a FB post but I don't do social media.
Other than the enclosure and LED the printer is awesome.
Had an issue with the hepa filter covers. One broke when I tried to remove it after seeing how it looked. Elego rapid pteg. When I tried reprinting it failed 2x
Lifted at the edges. Took me a bit to figure that out.
The orca slicer setting for filament reset to PLA. Bed was not hot enough.
Make sure you double check your filament settings in Ocra and on the machine to be certain. 3rd time worked after resetting to pteg.
Ocra slicer also will not allow me to set elego pteg as a filament.
I sis assign flashforge filaments but keeps stating I had set up a profile.
That's frustrating but I think if you stick to standard pteg and pla the profile is ok using the Flashforge preset for either.
Again, I am very happy. Just feel Flashforge should get honest feedback.
I will be purchasing a color adm5 when available
It has met all of our expectations. It's only been a week so hopefully it keeps going the way it has been. Quick and accurate.
Not much to say about it other than it works well. I can't speak as to whether it's better than PETG Basic, I just got this one because it was the only one in stock in the right colour.
This is my first 3D printer. It worked perfectly out of the box, I've been getting perfect results with PLA and quite good results with PETG just with the default settings. My only complaints are that I wish the filament spool holder was on the side rather than the back, as that would make the printer easier to place on a shelf, and also the cable/filament tube sticks up quite far above the printer, which was not included in the given measurements. I don't think that's enough to knock a star off but it's something to be aware of.
Just started using my FlashForge, but it was super easy to set up and the initial test prints all look perfect with no adjustments! Really excited to keep learning.
The free filaments also come in really nice colors (burnt titanium and skydiver) so that's a plus.
My first printer and it is running without any problems. Only downside is that it extrudes more filament than needed on a filament change
Awesome build plate. My prints detach better and with no marks on the bottom
I recently bought this printer. They really do not lie about the 10 minute setup time. Out of the box it worked soo well. This is a really good upgrade from my Bambu Lab A1 Mini.
