The parts to be printed where easy to do, and managed in PETG so it had more strength and heat ristance. This took about 1.5 reels on filament (just over). but it does help get to grips with the AD5X. Parts fitted together perfectly and very satisfying to slide the pannels in place, containined in the box. Instrcutions easy to follow and some of the screws will be taken out and re-used described in the instructions as some indictor arrows in both directions. Very pleased with the result. I did consider doing it in more interesting colours and design, but know It will be fleating and just used for function. Enjoyed putting it all together and printing. Happy with the the result. The new version seems to be fine, fitting wise. It may be the height adjustment was already taken into account. Rear struts I suggest to locate the spool mount screws first as their location can be a bit fiddly and seem like you are rounding them off.

excellent service delivery and the printer is great
Fast shipping, cant wait to get started.
Excelent machine ran straight out of the box with minimal setup. I would highly recommend for anyone wanting a reasonable priced multi filament machine.
Being new to the World of 3D printing i was somewhat surprised i needed to print the vast majority of the components to build the enclosure, however it turned out to be a great insight into what can be printed on the AD5X, the various pieces fitted together well and more importantly everything fitted onto the framework as it should with all holes being accuratley plced. The full set of tools needed to assemble the kit onto the frame was a nice touch and the instructions were very clear and well written, all in all it was a very easy task to undertake once the print file was downloaded and the printer completed the hard work of actually printing the components
Already had the 5m, so I got the 5x to go with it. I've had this printer for a couple of months now. Printed all of my christmas presents on it and everything has turned out great. It was a little learning but the power of YouTube and 3d printing groups on social platforms are helpful. This machine has worked perfectly for me .
The thing I love the most....
The machine stops ( on its own and alerts you) and let's you refill filament when it runs out.
Really happy with this purchase. New to 3D printing, bought this for fun. Super easy to put together, software also super easy to use. Made a good choice choosing this one, highly recommend for a beginner like me to have some fun with.
I started with PETG only and this was my first PLA printed very well at higher speeds.
As with any product, they look easy to use. I have a lot to learn yet. There are some very good YouTube videos that share their knowledge with you. Personally, I've had very few successes printing. I print small, (N Scale for my railroad = 1/160th). The details (from downloads I gotten) print well. Overall, from the research I've done there are very few 3D printers that have the features the AD5X has. A YouTube I watch, the instructor listed support setting and other settings that he found to be optimum. Flash Forge has those settings as default. I'm still learning as I go. And I've discovered that cheaper filaments are not has reliable as the Flash Forge and other higher end brands. It seems time affects their quality, and older filament gets brittle. Cheaper might be older.
Be prepared to do a lot of online study and experience frustrations, and that goes for any 3D printer you buy. I don't have much experience with 3D printing, but from what I've learned and saw online, the Flash Forge AD5X is currently one of the best to have.
As with any computer the tech is ever changing, but as of today in
Dec 2025, I'm glad I got this one.
Prints nicely. A few strings at the start with Orca Flash Maker and AD5X default settings
I honestly regret buying the AD5X. From the very first month, it felt like I was spending more time fixing it than actually using it. Every time I thought I had sorted out one issue, something else broke. It became a running joke in my house: “What part of the AD5X is going to fail this week?” The worst issue by far is how the device heats up almost instantly the moment I turn it on. Within seconds it gets so hot that it becomes completely unusable. making it pointless to even power on. It’s honestly a bit scary how fast it reaches that temperature.
Combine that with the nonstop repairs loose screws, parts wearing out ridiculously fast, random failures and the entire product feels like a project instead of something I paid full price to use. I’ve never owned anything that required this much constant attention just to keep it limping along. And yes, technically, most things can be repaired… but the time, money, and energy this thing drains is unbelievable. Even simple fixes become chores, and none of it matters when the device basically cooks itself the moment you try to use it anyway. Overall, the AD5X has been more of a burden than a tool. If you’re considering buying one, think carefully unless you enjoy constant repairs and a device that overheats itself into uselessness, this isn’t worth it.
works perfect, ability to watch remotly is great with the app
brilliant printer for the price, havent had any issues, thankyou
It did arrive and I installed to print **** shoot from Flasforge website. Ugly print but functional.
Easy to setup
solidly built
fast and high quality prints
Amazing printer, first time owning a 3D printer and the experience has been very pleasant. Small hiccup during the first week but using CHAT-GPT resolved it very easily. Loved it so much ordered a second printer hahah. Wife has me printing so many things for christmas so needed a second unit to keep up
It is pretty good if you're a beginner, easy to put together, parts are straight forward, however I have had this for 2 weeks and its now starting to show it's problems. starters it doesn't state if you're going to use Orca then use Orca Forge not Orca slicer (Orca Slicer is the newest version) It has had issues with filament getting stuck in the tubes however it was an easy enough fix. There was issues with parts falling off in one print that I had because the model came off the plate as well which caused more errors. Also remember if you're using PETG you need to make sure it will heat up to the proper temperatures. I had issues with it not automatically heating to the right temperatures when using it until I put it in automatically. Other than that it's a great, low cost printer that while has issues they are easy to get around.
As a 3D printing novice I am completely impressed with the support provided by the Flashforge team. They helped me with getting my AD5X up and running after some minor issues. Replacement parts are perfect.

Easy to use, quick to print, negative point is the IFs which took a long time to learn and program correctly, I love my AD5X!
This didn't disappoint. Although a little noisy, this produces very good quality prints. I have 2 X1C combos, and this had very comparable printing quality. Now only have 35 hours on this unit, however out of the box it worked right away. It still creates a lot of waste, however it is a bit faster in the change overs. Installing the enclosure soon.
This could be a very useful print farm printer.
This is an amazing printer. Read my other review that I put on more then a month ago.
I love this 3D printer I am 11 years old and I love it so much I have a new setup where the AD5X is I love it so much. I have shared my new setup on a photo. Thank you Flashforge for this 3D printer. I love the camera what I got separately and I have the enclosure and that is amazing. I am also getting the LED light for the AD5X I like my 3D printer thank you so much Flashforge!! You are the best!
